When I started having discomfort in an area next to my stomach, I had to go to the medical doctor and get help. Thankfully, it wasn’t as terrible. There were some problems with my liver, but not enough to require hospitalization. In reality, I was able to go back home the same evening. I was on medication for a few weeks, and when I completed it, I was advised to go through a detox program.
I must admit that I wasn’t exactly excited about it, but having escaped surgical treatment, I chose not to take any possibilities, so I followed the detox plan to the letter.
The first days of the detox plan had been the most difficult. I was especially affected by the reality that I couldn’t eat red meat. I used to eat meat almost everyday, and having it taken away so suddenly was hard on me. Almost as bad was the prohibition of alcoholic beverages. Much more than once I was lured to drink, but then I pushed myself to consider the pain I had felt just some weeks before and that somewhat helped. I ended spending time with my friends for a bit, as a way to lessen temptation.
On the other hand, having to perform physical exercise was probably the most fun part of the entire detox plan. At first it was difficult, but when I joined a group that played basketball, I really got into it. The first games I couldn’t hold more than a quarter without having to call it quits. Even so, I liked the competitive part of the sport and I kept trying harder and harder. Although I never became an excellent player, I began to look forward to every single game, just for the excitement of it. Right now, I can outrun everyone else at the workplace, despite the fact that it is not a skill that my manager especially values.
One of the parts of the detox diet program that I had difficulty complying with was acquiring enough rest. Since the detox plan didn’t contain taking sick leave, I needed to keep on working and catch up with my tasks. And when I arrived home I often experienced like going to sleep early was a total waste of time that could have been used on watching Television or studying or spending some time with my kids. Thankfully, my wife was very supportive and took good care of the kids while I got some extra sleep.
In the end of the detox plan, I felt like a fully different individual. In fact, I kept a few of the habits that I picked up using the detox plan, for example playing basketball. Except now I play with my kids on week-ends only. I keep drinking mineral water, and despite the fact that I started drinking and feeding on red meat again, the volumes I consume now are far more moderate than what I used to consume within the past.
But most importantly, I feel much better realizing that my hardworking liver is much less probably to fail and endure a serious condition. I truly propose the encounter to absolutely everyone who wants to feel better and live longer for the sake of his or her family.
